Cruise passengers face the same problem every turnaround day: the ship docks in the morning, flights leave in the afternoon, and everyone has luggage. This guide sets out the options for the Barcelona cruise port to airport journey using the Port of Barcelona, the metropolitan taxi tariff and Aena, and says where we could not verify a figure.
Barcelona cruise port to the airport
There is no official public-transport line that takes you from the cruise terminals to the airport. In practice you choose between four things:
| Option |
Best for |
What the official sources confirm |
| Taxi |
1 to 4 people |
Fixed fare of 46 EUR airport to or from Moll Adossat, supplements included |
| Large taxi |
5 to 8 people |
Supplement for 5 to 8 passengers listed in the tariff |
| Cruise Bus plus public transport |
Light luggage, flexible timing |
Cruise Bus goes to the city centre, not the airport |
| Pre-booked minibus or coach |
Groups, lots of luggage |
Private vehicles may drop off and pick up at the terminals |
We would start with the taxi for a couple or a family, and with a booked vehicle for any party that cannot fit in one or two taxis.
Taxi from the cruise port to the airport
The 2026 tariff published by the metropolitan taxi authority lists an item "T-4": airport to or from Moll Adossat, 46 EUR with all supplements included. The same page gives the general rates, which we show so you can see what a trip from outside the Adossat quay might involve:
| Item |
Amount (2026) |
| Flag fall |
2.80 EUR |
| Per km, weekdays 08:00 to 20:00 |
1.35 EUR |
| Per km, nights, Saturdays and holidays |
1.66 EUR |
| Airport supplement |
4.60 EUR |
| Moll Adossat port supplement |
4.60 EUR |
| 5 to 8 passengers |
4.60 EUR |
| Waiting, per hour |
27.75 EUR |
| Minimum fare from the airport |
21.00 EUR |
Tolls are paid by the customer if the route uses them. The tariff is a metropolitan one and may be updated, so check the page on the day.
Is there a shuttle from the cruise port to the city?
Yes, but only to the centre. According to the Port of Barcelona, the Adossat terminals have a shuttle, the Cruise Bus, priced at 3.50 EUR one way or 5 EUR return, connecting them with the city centre. The port lists no stops or timetable on that page. The World Trade Center terminals are described as close to the public transport network.
TMB, the city's transport operator, mentions a shuttle called the T-3 Portbus that links the cruise terminals with bus lines D20, H14, V11, V13, 21, 59 and 120, and names Drassanes (metro L3) as the nearest station. TMB's page gives no fare or timetable for it. Neither source describes a direct connection to the airport, so a shuttle plus public transport means changing at least once with your luggage.
Cruise port transfers in Barcelona
For a group, the main question is not price per seat but whether everyone, and everyone's luggage, leaves together and on time. The Port of Barcelona states that private vehicles may drop off and pick up passengers and luggage at the terminals, and that parking at the terminals is not allowed. That suits a chartered vehicle: the driver arrives at the agreed time, loads, and leaves.
A rough guide by party size:
At the airport end, Aena publishes designated areas for occasional group buses at both terminals and a pre-booked private-hire meeting point on Level -1 of the T1 car park. Ask the company to name the terminal and the exact point so your driver and the group can find each other.
The price depends on seats, distance, time of day, waiting time, luggage, and tolls or parking. We do not quote a figure for private transfers because no official tariff exists for them; ask for quotes with our free quote form. Our page on coach hire prices explains the cost factors.
Why groups rarely rely on taxis
Each taxi carries four passengers, or up to eight in a larger vehicle with the 4.60 EUR supplement, and every extra car multiplies the coordination. With a party of twelve you would need several taxis arriving at different times, and the group would split between them. A single minibus keeps people together, lets one person talk to the driver, and puts the whole party at the same airport door. With thirty or forty people, a coach is the only sensible choice, and it needs a driver who knows where it may stop at the terminal.
Coming the other way: airport to the cruise port
Many passengers do the reverse journey on embarkation day. The tariff item above works in both directions, and Aena lists taxi ranks and pre-booked private-hire meeting points at the airport, with a meeting point for pre-booked private-hire vehicles on Level -1 of the T1 car park. Aena also publishes meeting points for coach transfers to hotels: Floor 0, Parking G at T1 and the T2BC technical block at T2. For a group, a named driver with a sign at arrivals is simpler than looking for a rank with all the luggage. Give the company every flight number, because passengers landing at different times may need more than one pick-up.
Which terminal will my ship use?
The Port of Barcelona lists these terminals on its cruise pages: A, B, C, D (Palacruceros), E (Helix) and MSC on the Adossat quay, plus the World Trade Center terminal on the Barcelona quay. Distances to the city centre quoted by the port range from about 2 km for A and B to about 3.9 km for MSC. The port also reports that the North WTC terminal has closed to cruises and that other changes, including a new Terminal G, are planned. Terminal assignments change between voyages, so use the one in your cruise documents.
What does the cruise port transfer cost?
Only two prices come from official sources, and they apply to different things. The taxi tariff fixes 46 EUR between the airport and Moll Adossat, and the port lists the Cruise Bus at 3.50 EUR one way or 5 EUR return to the city centre. We have no official tariff for private minibus or coach transfers, because those are priced by each company. Their quotes depend on:
- the number of seats you need and the vehicle size;
- the distance and the time of day, including night or holiday surcharges;
- waiting time while the ship disembarks;
- luggage handling, tolls and parking;
- whether the quote covers one journey or a return.
Compare quotes on what they include, not just the total. A cheap figure that excludes waiting time can end up more expensive than one that covers an hour of margin. The same logic applies to the hire of a vehicle for a whole day with a driver, which can be cheaper per person for a large party that also wants to see the city before the flight; ask for both options in the same request.
How do you plan the timing?
Work backwards from the flight, not forwards from disembarkation:
- Find your airline's check-in and bag-drop deadlines for your flight.
- Add the time your cruise line needs to get everybody off the ship and through baggage collection, which varies by ship.
- Add margin for traffic. We cannot give a verified journey time between the port and the airport, so ask your transfer company what margin it recommends.
- Choose the departure time of the vehicle, then agree a fallback if disembarkation is late.
For groups, the delay risk is bigger than for individual travellers, because it is the slowest passenger who sets the pace. A company that tracks the ship, and not just the flight, is worth paying for. Ask it to confirm in writing what happens if disembarkation runs late.

What if you only need the city centre, not the airport?
Many passengers spend the morning in Barcelona and go to the airport later. In that case the Cruise Bus from the Adossat terminals to the city centre costs 3.50 EUR one way according to the port, and you can leave luggage at a station if you need to: Estació del Nord has lockers, as described in our guide to the Barcelona bus station. A private driver can also be hired by the hour for a sightseeing stop before the airport run. The trade-off is risk: every stop adds time, so keep a firm cut-off for leaving the city and agree it with the driver in writing.
What should you ask before booking a cruise transfer?
- Which terminal and which exact meeting point will the vehicle use?
- Does the company monitor the ship's arrival and your flight?
- How long will the driver wait after the ship docks, and what does extra waiting cost?
- Is luggage included, and is there a limit on cases?
- Does the quote include tolls and parking?
- Are adapted vehicles available for passengers with reduced mobility?
Send the date, the terminal, the number of passengers and your flight time through the quote form: it goes to up to three companies.
