Minibus companies in Barcelona
If you need minibus hire in Barcelona, the aim is not to pay for more vehicle than you use. A 55-seat coach for 15 people costs more and is harder to park. A minibus or microbus (smaller than an "autocar", the Spanish word for a coach) fits narrow streets, housing estates and country estates where a coach struggles. Our directory covers 73 companies, ranked on Google Maps data. We explain the ranking in how we rank.
Most are in or near the capital. Barcelona itself has 23, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat 9, Sant Boi de Llobregat 6, Badalona 5 and Ripollet 4. A company close to your pick-up point saves you paying for an empty outbound trip, so check the town before you compare ratings.

If your group is between 25 and 35, ask for a quote for both a large microbus and a coach. The difference can be small, and a coach gives more luggage space.
Minibus rental with driver in Barcelona
A quote you can compare states the hours included, the kilometres, waiting time, tolls, parking and any surcharges. Long days also depend on driver rules. According to the European Commission, a driver may drive 9 hours a day, extended to 10 hours twice a week, with a break of at least 45 minutes after 4.5 hours of driving. If your programme runs longer, the quote should include a second driver or planned stops.
Ask these questions before you book:
- How many real seats does the vehicle have, and how much luggage fits?
- How many hours and kilometres does the price include?
- Does the driver wait, and what does waiting cost?
- Is there a surcharge for nights, holidays or weekends?
- Does the vehicle have air conditioning and, if needed, a ramp or lift?
- What happens if the vehicle breaks down?
How much does a minibus cost?
We do not quote a figure, because we have not confirmed one from a published tariff we can cite. Prices rise with seats, hours, kilometres and waiting time, and fall for short weekday trips. To compare fairly, send every company the same date, time, pick-up point, destination, stops and passenger count. Our guide to coach hire prices lists what drives the price.
Wheelchair access and other options
Among the companies in the directory, 14 mention vehicles adapted for passengers with reduced mobility on their websites. If you need one, say so in your first message and ask for written confirmation with the date and the type of ramp or lift. For a very small group that wants comfort, compare a chauffeur service in Barcelona as well.
Minibus, taxi or public transport?
For ten or more people with the same start and end point, a minibus is usually simpler than coordinating several taxis, and it avoids changes with luggage. Public transport works when the route is regular and the group is small. You can look up metropolitan bus lines on the AMB mobility site. If you are mainly planning an airport run, our page on Barcelona airport transfers compares the options.
If children or older people travel with you, ask for seat belts and space for pushchairs, and check the step height and any ramp. These checks cost nothing and prevent problems on the day.
Red flags
- A much lower price with no detail of what it includes.
- No company name, address or phone number you can check.
- Full payment up front without an invoice.
- No firm answer on the model or number of seats.
Ask for your quote
Our advice is to request three quotes with identical details and choose by what each includes, not only the price. The quote form sends your request to up to three companies on this list.
